The Opportunity

We are looking for a Subcontractor Accounts Clerk to join the team. Reporting to the Purchase Ledger Manager, you will process all Sub-Contractor invoices and applications alongside agency invoices always adhering to a 2-way and 3-way match control.

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills are a must for this role. Emphasis is placed on no mistakes as opposed to maximising volume, we are looking for someone is prepared to slow down and ensure all checks and balances are performed before processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile subcontractor valuations/applications to the contract works checking previously applied values
  • Process subcontract Invoices onto Sage ensuring correct application of CIS tax, retentions and Domestic reverse charge
  • Process subcontractor applications onto Sage ensuring correct application of CIS tax, retentions and Domestic reverse charge
  • Process Intercompany applications and invoice’s
  • Liaise with commercial buying team to process/resolve queries
  • Manage approvals for all invoices/applications
  • Manage subcontractor email inbox
  • Send all remittances and CIS statements
  • Reconcile subcontractor statements, requesting documents where required
  • Deal with all subcontractor queries
  • Work with PL manager and PL senior to escalate any issues
  • Produce and reconcile payments for Sub-contractors
  • Any ad hoc queries as requested by Accts team, Purchase ledger manager or Senior finance team

Experience and Knowledge

  • Good organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and to adhere to time constraints
  • Experience of 2-way and 3-way match
  • Sage 200 experience would be useful but not essential
  • Prior construction experience would be useful but not essential
