Jameson Hopkins

Chair

As chair of LNT Care Developments Group, Jamie brings considerable experience from leading a FTSE 250 company and has extensive knowledge of UK property and corporate finance to support the executive team at LNT. Jamie was previously Chief Executive Officer of Workspace Group plc from 2012 until May 2019. Jamie was also formerly Chief Executive and then a Non-Executive Director of Mapeley plc from 2002 until 2010, a business he led the floatation of in 2005. Prior to that, Jamie was a Director of Chester Properties from 2009 to 2012, and Investment Director of Delancey Estates and Savills between 1990 to 2002. A member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Jamie is currently a Non-Executive Director at Allsop, Restore and AndCo.

Jamie has significant experience of leading senior board teams in large companies, both private and public, bringing diversity of thought and an excellent understanding of capital markets and the property sector.

Anne Shiels

Non-Executive Director

Non-Executive Director Anne joined the Board in 2021 as an experienced Director with extensive board-level experience both in the UK and internationally. Working with FTSE 100 and independently-owned companies in both regulated and non-regulated businesses, Anne’s experience spans a broad range of sectors including financial services, retail, telecommunications, manufacturing and consumer.

She combines strategic leadership and deep people, culture and organisational transformation expertise with a solid understanding of governance, control and risk. Anne has held Executive roles at Hallmark Cards, Lloyds Banking Group/HBOS, Safeway and Thus Plc. Anne is a highly regarded executive coach and adviser to Boards and Directors in diverse businesses in the UK and the US.

Annes track record of leading large people functions and facilitating transformative organisational change, coupled with her widespread sector experience, helps us to develop a broader view on our approach to the ESG agenda and assists in developing people strategies including our approach to culture, talent, succession and reward.

Anne is also a Non Executive Director of the Newcastle Building Society and is also a Director of Newcastle Financial Advisers Limited.

Dr Lawrence Tomlinson

Founder & Non-Executive Director

Dr Lawrence Tomlinson is one of the UK’s most successful entrepreneurs and innovative engineers. Lawrence’s accomplishments over his extensive career are widely regarded. He has been recognised by the Institute of Directors’ as UK Director of the Year and has served on occasion as a government advisor on a number of matters for over 20 years.

Lawrence was the Government’s Entrepreneur in Residence in 2014, advising the UK Government on business policy. For his contribution to the industry he has been awarded Honorary Doctorates in Engineering from the University of Huddersfield, the University of Bradford and Leeds Metropolitan University. Dr Tomlinson is also an Entrepreneurship Ambassador and mentor to the University of Oxfords Said Business School.

Over a 32 year period Dr Tomlinson has guided and invested in LNT Care Developments Group to drive it to its current position as number 1 in the market today. LNT has built over £3.7bn of Care homes delivering over 15,048 care home beds to the sector. He is a passionate advocate for building “Great Places to Live” and making a real difference to the lives of the residents who live in LNT built homes, the communities they serve and to the people who work for the LNT Group.

As the founder and now Non Executive Director, Lawrence is now enjoying a new role providing strategic and innovation input into our homes and how they are designed and built. His considerable experience is valued highly by our in-house teams together with the active support that he provides for the executive board. Lawrence enjoys making a day to day contribution to the agenda to move to net zero and has been a major force behind LNT Care Homes progress to becoming Carbon Zero users of energy from 2021 onwards.

In his spare time he enjoys travelling and socialising. He also actively partakes in motor sport with his son and is a dynamic supporter of the drive to provide an accessible route to top level racing driving through his ownership of Ginetta and various other motorsports businesses. Lawrence is married with four grown up children.

Nick Frankland

Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer Nick takes a leading role on our board, working alongside the director team as we continue to scale up and grow further.

Nick joined LNT in 2021 from Legal and General where he was a senior director heading a number of large businesses as well as leading investments in growth companies in the technology and financial services sector.

Nick has 30 years of leadership experience in FTSE 100 companies across retail banking, investment management, asset management, surveying and insurance together with extensive knowledge gained from his position on the boards of various external companies. Nick brings to LNT his day to day experience of working at group board level in the delivery of large programmes together with his focus on business results and great customer outcomes for LNT, our partners and our customers.

Nick holds degrees and post graduate qualifications in Business Administration and Marketing Management. He is married and enjoys cycling, skiing, martial arts and an active social life now that his two teenage sons are progressing through the university years.

Tom Mather

Finance Director

Tom is an ICAEW Chartered Accountant qualifying in 2017 with Ernst & Young LLP. The EY experience gave Tom a solid grounding in accounting and reporting, resulting in him being awarded Humberside & District Student Chartered Accountant of the year in 2015.

Following a time as a Manager in KPMG LLP’s audit practice, Tom moved into industry working in challenging business environments mainly in the construction and manufacturing sectors. These centred predominantly around business turnaround and restructuring, notably when he was Group Financial Controller at British Steel during the 2020 takeover.

Tom subsequently joined the LNT Care Developments Group at the start of 2021 to assist the senior management team in delivering the scale up and growth ambitions and was subsequently appointed to the Board as Finance Director in January 2022.

Outside of work, Tom leads an active social life and is a keen racquet sports player and runner.

Matthew Lowe

Chief Executive Officer

As Chief Executive Officer Matt has lead the business since 2015 having joined the group in 2012 as Commercial Director.

Matt is one of the UK’s most highly regarded industry experts and has worked in all areas of the sector. He has outstanding market knowledge from working at operational level and at board level across the entire eco system of Operators, Developers and Funders. Matt has a unique ability to apply his knowledge right across the sector and has worked tirelessly to grow LNT to its market leading position today.

Matt draws from his previous experience, bringing understanding and specialist knowledge from a range of sectors. Matt holds a degree in Business and Management Studies and a post graduate qualification with the Association of Corporate Treasurers. Prior to joining the LNT Group, Matt was senior director at RBS Group leading the corporate and institutional team in the North East of England and Yorkshire. Prior to that, he spent time as an adviser at KPMG specialising in M&A transactions and project finance.

Outside of his work as CEO Matt is particularly focussed on the commercial transactions for the Group and driving forward our commercial strategy.

Matt is married with three children and when he has spare time he enjoys mountaineering, cycling and playing squash.

Amy Tomlinson

Director of ESG

Before joining LNT in 2018, Amy graduated university with a first-class degree in Chemical Engineering BEng (Hons) where she focussed her studies on transport processes, manufacturing operations, through to safety engineering and process control. Throughout her university studies Amy took a keen interest in the sustainable built environment and industrial systems in the context of the global climate and energy crisis. Her passion for facing into the challenges of climate change have lead to her contributing significantly to the LNT transformation agenda to design and build world class Care homes that only consume carbon free energy.

Amy is the latest of three generations working in the care industry. Through various roles in the industry she has developed a unique insight into best practice for Care home operators, how to use technology to best advantage to manage administration together with a broad range of leadership experiences.

In 2021 Amy took on the broader role of leading on the entire ESG agenda for the board of LNT. She is a passionate advocate for women in construction, diversity in the workplace and of the significant value of social good provided by an LNT Care home being built in a community. Amy actively supports our people agenda and keeping the caring family orientated values at the heart of everything we do.

Amy thrives on making a real difference in her everyday work and when spare time allows, she enjoys keeping fit, playing tennis, and spending time with friends.

Keeley Sharp

Land Director

Prior to joining LNT in 2016, Keeley had over 20 years’ experience in Development and Main Contracting holding both Operational and Strategic Development roles within Connaught, Carillion and Esh. With a strong background in bid and construction management, Keeley has a successful history of acquiring development opportunities for both private and social schemes across the UK.

Much of Keeley’s background had a strong emphasis on collaborative working and driving effective partnership which continues to be a fundamental aspect of driving LNT’s pipeline of sites activity from site identification through to completion and successful construction handover.

Keeley is widely regarded across the industry as a leading expert in her field and has played a significant role in LNT’s expansion to its market position today.

Dame Caroline Dinenage

Non-Executive Director / Chair

Dame Caroline Dinenage joined as Non Executive of LNT Care Developments Group to provide challenge to the board on both business strategy and their progress on driving the quantity, quality and productivity of Care facilities across the UK.

Born in Portsmouth, Caroline grew up in South Hampshire and has a BA in English & Politics from Swansea University. At just 19 years old she established a successful manufacturing company, which she ran for over 20 years. Her expertise in and passion for small and medium-sized business would eventually earn her the accolade of Small Business Ambassador for the South, along with a seat on the Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) Select Committee.

Caroline’s parliamentary political career started in May 2010 as Member of Parliament for Gosport.

Between May 2015 to September 2021 Caroline served as a Government Minister. Over this time she covered 6 different Government Departments and worked for 7 different Secretaries of State. Between 2015-2018 she served as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice and Minister for Women and Equalities, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Women, Equalities and Early Years at the Department for Education and Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Family Support, Housing and Child Maintenance at the Department of Work and Pensions. In January 2018 Caroline was appointed Minister of State at the Department of Health & Social Care before moving to Minister of State for Digital and Culture at the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport from February 2020 until September 2021.

Since rejoining the back-benches in September 2021 Caroline has been elected onto the Women & Equalities Select Committee and appointed to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. She is also Co-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Unpaid Carers.

In her moments of free time, Caroline can usually be found in, on or by the Solent - beach walks, swimming, sailing, or falling off her SUP. She enjoys weekends away in a vintage VW Camper and supports Portsmouth FC. Caroline formed the first ever Parliamentary netball team!

Mark Greaves

Non-Executive Director

Mark joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director in 2023 having had a close involvement with the LNT Group for a number of years. Mark’s career has involved almost 40 years of working in the care sector in a range of senior executive, regulatory and statutory roles. This unique experience has been gained from working across the public, not for profit and private sectors. Career highlights include leading the residential, domiciliary and retirement village functions for Anchor Hanover – England’s largest provider of care and housing for older people and working with Dr Lawrence Tomlinson on the scale up of Ideal homes. Mark is a leading expert in helping care home operators in their growth plans and holds an MBA focussing on the provision of residential care for older people. Mark was also recognised as the Executive Care Home Leader of the Year in recognition for his leadership through the Covid pandemic.

Away from work Mark relaxes by walking, reading and spending time with his family.

Professor Sandeep Kapur

Non-Executive Director

Professor Sandeep Kapur is a highly experienced practice chair and associate medical director and has an active interest in evidence-based medicine and the implementation of technology within general medical care. Professor Kapur holds dual licensure in the U.K. and U.S. as an active practicing physician. He currently is a primary care advisor to the Care Quality Commission, an examiner for the General Medical Council and a member of the Joint Formulary Committee, British National Formulary. He previously served on the National Institute for Clinical Excellence Diagnostics Committee.

Pete Mortimer

Managing Director of Construction

Pete Mortimer has committed his 35 year career to the construction of care homes with LNT and is now one of the most recognised industry experts in the UK. Pete began his career working with LNT in the Electrical Services area and has since headed other major departments as his career developed further. Since 2018 Pete has driven the entire construction programme as Managing Director of Construction. He brings a completely unique skillset to the role, not only is Pete a leading advocate for innovation and change but also knows all the small details of every build from his time working on site. A process expert with an obsessional eye for detail, Pete enjoys the trust of the board and shares his considerable experience widely across the sector having worked on the build of over 200 care homes.

Vicki Baker

Employee Experience Manager

Vicki is one of the most experienced leaders in LNT and a key member of our management team. Vicki leads the people agenda within our group and reports to the board on our progressive programme to drive our talent and retention agenda. As a passionate advocate for operational excellence Vicki ensures that our company benefits from having world class teams working in the business together with a wide and diverse range of thought and input into our day to day work.

Alistair Wood

Planning and Development Manager

Alistair is one of the country's leading experts in the field of planning and development of care homes. With over 35 years experience dealing with planning matters across the public and private sector Alistair brings a unique skillset to LNT. Alistair developed his skills working in local authorities tackling technical and complex challenges and has since spent 18 years as Planning and Development Manager in LNT. His contribution to LNT and the industry at large is widely regarded and he has supervised the successful approval of over 150 care homes in the UK.

Alistair holds a Masters Degree in Geographical Studies and a Post Graduate Diploma in Town & Country planning and is a long established member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
